What We Are
Our Little World is a show for children ages three and up available for free on YouTube. We explore different people, careers, organizations, facilities, and trades. Each episode features a hands on exploration where they kids can experiment, fail, support each other and learn. There is also discussion where the kids engage in a real conversation with the episode’s host and the expert from the demonstration to ask big questions and explore big ideas. Each Episode features a different educator “host” as a partner and advocate for the children.
Who We Are
Our Little World has its roots in innovative Early Childhood Education, and is guided by an Educational Advisory Board comprised of seven Early Childhood educators with a variety of expertises.
Our Format
Each of our episodes has four segments available as individual videos.
The Exploration
This is our “main” segment where we get our hands dirty and explore a topic. We try things, we hypothesize, we fail, we iterate, and we learn. This video is approachable for all kids aged 3+. We explore complicated topics and do not over-simplify our terminology. We use these opportunities to spark curiosity in our viewers instead of watering down a subject.
The Discussion
After our exploration, we slow the pace down and engage in a discussion about deeper topics and implications of our actions. We explore larger ideas and next steps for any viewer who may be interested in more. This video is designed for kids aged 5+.
