Stormwater
and
Rain Gardens
Hamza, Joylin, and John take a tour through a modern rain garden with Jenna from MSD Project Clear. After exploring each element of the garden, the four work together to build their own rain garden.
After the project, the four sit down to discuss the urban water cycle and other ways to help water pollution in cities and towns.
John is our educator for this episode and Hamza and Joylin ask him as many questions as they can think up.
In the behind-the-scenes segment, Estelle, Ellie, Kai, and Kris explore how the episode was made and talk about the cameras used to bring the episode to life.
Resources
If you’d like to build your own rain garden, check with your local resources to make sure you’re compliant and using the best plants and placement possible. We got a lot of help from MSD Project Clear, and the Missouri Botanical Garden.
If you build your own rain garden, we’d love to see your designs. Tag us on Instagram @OurLittleWorldShow
You can also download printable Activity Book Pages.
If you watched the show with a child, we’d love to get some anonymous feedback on what they liked and what may have left them disengaged.
